The FLUX Ador diode laser cutter and engraver was released in Europe back in 2021. It was one of the first laser engravers on the market to offer interchangeable modules, making it a versatile and customizable tool for a wide range of creative projects. Fast forward to 2024, and Ador is finally available here in the states, with some very cool new features. Back in January, Flux asked us if we’d like to compare it against our other diode lasers. We were like, um, YES please! We were one of the first to get it in America.

Ador’s 3 different laser modules include a 10W or 20W Diode Laser module, perfect for cutting and engraving a variety of materials, including wood, cardstock, and some acrylics. The third module, a 2W Infrared Laser, can perform delicate engraving tasks on materials like metal and glass.
The working area is HUGE for a diode laser. Ador lets you cut and engrave materials up to 16.9 x 11.8 inches vs the tiny 11.8 by 11.8 inches of one of its competitors.
And yes, there is an integrated rotary option available so you can engrave your tumblers and cups.
So what’s the groundbreaking, industry-leading game-changing feature? Are you sitting down?
Ador has a full-color Printing Option with its print module! We’re VERY excited about this option because now we have a professional print shop in our own home business!
There are other options for printing on wood, glass, and acrylic, like DTF or direct to film printers. But that’s basically putting stickers on things, and it can look a little cheesy. There’s also dye sublimation, but that requires heat and a dye sub printer. Some things, like acrylic, don’t tolerate heat well. Finally, there are industrial UV printers. But they’re the size of a SUV, they smell a lot and require a tremendous amount of maintenance, and run upwards of 30 thousand dollars.
Flux Ador’s print module solves all those problems with its fast-dry solvent inkjet process. And the print module works with the rotary assembly – that means you can print tumblers too!
Now, to be completely honest, we’re still working out the kinks printing on tumblers. We’ve had some success, but we’re still working on the proper focus and print settings for cylindrical things. When we do figure this out, and we are completely confident we will discover the perfect combination, we’ll post a video here on this channel. So subscribe if you haven’t already!
Unlike the other combo laser engraver and printer that came out recently, Ador has FOUR separate ink modules, just like professional UV, Laser, DTF, and inkjet printers do. The copycat has a teeny-tiny little inkjet module with only Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow, but NO black. They fake black by mixing all the colors together. It’s more like a dark brown.
And although Ador’s eco-solvent inks are a little more pricey, the cartridges are considerably larger than the competition’s. And when you run out of one color, you won’t have to waste all the other ink remaining in the cartridge. Ador’s ink is also more permanent. You can print on just about anything – including wood, acrylic, metal, glass, whatever. Go ahead and put those printed signs outside and wash those tumblers in the dishwasher. We printed and cut this amazing puzzle on white acrylic.
